Process development for building a modular production system for algae-based food

The main goal of the “ALGAE-MODULE 4.0” project is to develop a modular production platform for high-quality and reproducible food ingredients from microalgae. This includes both process and product innovations aimed at creating new food systems based on microalgae biomass. In the current German food industry, the widespread use of algae-based products is very significantly limited, primarily due to the limited availability of high-quality products. Therefore, the project aims to develop modular production units that can be operated in industrial environments and at sites of biomass use.
